Inspired by the traditional French shift, or “chemise”, our NEW Artist Dress is a romantic and painterly piece that’s endlessly versatile. Wear it as a dress with leggings or bare legs, or as a long tunic over our matching Artist pants!

About the Print: The Guardians began as a midnight offering — created at our studio in the small hours of a sleepless night, and pieced together by hand like a little prayer made of paper wings.

At the heart of our design are the enchantingly beautiful angels from artist Edward Burne-Jones’ The Days of Creation series, collaged together in to a sweeping procession, their feathered wings folded around them, and each with a world cradled in their arms. We added a velvety night sky and a crescent moon from an 1800’s celestial lithograph, and wild branches and vines taken from a 17th century Italian pastoral etching. 

The trim features a vintage William Morris golden floral pattern, interwoven with stars borrowed from an antique Victorian book cover. 

100% viscose (derived from plant fibres such as wood and bamboo).

Machine wash gentle or handwash, hang to dry.

Measurements for S/M: 136cm long, 52cm wide underarm to underarm. L/XL: 142cm long, 57cm wide underarm to underarm.
